“Hi. My name is Nicolas Collings. I was born in 1983 and I currently live in Belgium. I made this model for the challenge “Take2: Celebrity Head Sculpt” at subdivisionmodeling.com. This was my first real attempt at doing a digital double so I learnt a lot doing this challenge. I completed this piece in one week, working approximately 2 hours every evening after working-days. The week-end before I started this model, I had watched “Man on Fire”, one of my favourite movies. Denzel Washington is just amazing in it. That’s why I decided to choose him as my celebrity head.”

Making of Manolia

“I do appreciate the special mood of the studio’s photography’s. I thought it could be interesting to reproduce this feeling in CG. Even if I haven’t practice this exercise before, I believe it has already been done by talented artists. Rather than taking inspiration from them I prefer to take advice of the photographers about how to set up the composition.”
